About A.J. Mahari
A.J. Mahari is a 50 year old woman living in Ontario, Canada. She is a professional
writer and is also a Life Coach. A.J. Mahari
has learned the value of getting and staying honest and of facing the pain and anxiety that
while they appear to be obstacles are really the catalyst for change that are the harbingers
of our sacred journeys. A.J. has become a stronger, wiser, and much more emotionally mature human
being as the result of her determined perseverance through her own recovery and personal growth.
A.J. seeks to often remind, as she herself says, "We must find a way to welcome in the pain and embrace it while radically
accepting it. It is only from a willing attitude that we can remain open to the lessons that our
pain comes to teach us. If you continue to protect yourself from your pain - the heart of the journey
that is your recovery awaiting your nurture - you cannot learn the lessons that you need in order to
attain the personal growth required to make positive and lasting changes in your life."
A.J. Mahari has the voice of a consumer expert whose knowledge comes from first-hand life experience in the trenches of pain and difficult circumstance that require the making of many challenging choices to get well and stay well. A.J. has left the trenches of mental illness behind and has climbed the many mountains of her previously unresolved past in order to recover from BPD, among other things while learning to thrive in her life as someone with Asperger's Syndrome.
According to A.J., "Life presents us with infinite opportunity. Possibility that can only be realized, grasped, and understood within the rich and complex nature of all in life that is truly paradoxical. The greatest challenge to those with BPD and/or other mental health issues is the finding of the paradoxical wonder that exists in their lives. It is about slowly undoing all of one's polarizing pain and accompanying patterns of negative thinking, feeling, perceiving, acting, and reacting. That's the point at which what has been mental illness can become transformed into mental health."

A.J. Mahari has a prolific presence on the web and has had so for over 10 years. She has written over 250 articles that have been published online, most on her websites, (see right hand menu for a list of most of her websites) and many on a variety of different websites. She has written and published 12 ebooks made available 14 Audio Programs and she continues to write articles, make available audio clips, and videos on her over 10 websites.
Among my web sites I do have a web site now for Non Borderlines The Other Side of BPD

Focus on Recovery From BPD
I will be writing articles and ebooks as well as doing some audio programs for this site in the new section I have just included here about recovery from BPD. I will speak to the journey, the process, the reality, and all the ins and outs of what that means, looks like, feels like, and entails. I will be doing a couple of ebooks on this subject as well as new audio programs. So please keep checking back for all of that and more. Be sure to click on the Recovery link when you check back from more about that. -- A.J. Mahari - December 29, 2007
It is my goal to have as much information about all of the puzzle pieces that form the over-all enigma of Borderline Personality Disorder - an enigma that I have untangled and figured out in my own life. While the information on this web site will hopefully be helpful to those with BPD, I have heard from thousands of non borderlines over the years that have also found this site invaluable in their journeys.
On a Personal Note
This past year and a half or so has been a very challenging time for me. I had to end a relationship, put my beloved dog, Mandy, to sleep, and move. A lot to deal with all at once for sure. A lot of change and grief. A lot more personal growth. Life is an incredible journey when it is lived in the paradox. Even after recovery from BPD life has its challengs and lessons and remains an on-going journey.
I know from my own personal recovery that it is possible. I know that if you are borderline, you need to have hope. Bring trapped in borderline pain can seem and feel pretty hopeless. If you are non borderline there is hope for you too in or out of chosen or unchosen relationships with those with BPD.
A.J. Mahari Described by A Friend and Mental Health Professional
"A.J. Mahari has been writing about Borderline Personality Disorder From The Inside Out for over 10 years now. She is a wonderfully insightful and highly credible guide into this most complicated personality disorder for both those with BPD and non borderlines. Mahari's articles and ebooks are welcome light in an otherwise often dark journey of lostness." -- Kelly Hodgins, Ph.D.
A.J.'s Believes In Recovery and Knows It is Found By Finding One's Place Inside First
"I have come to understand that each of us, indeed, does have
a place in this hectic and often over-burdened world of ours.
This place is found within our individual spirit, deep down
inside of ourselves. This place, my place in the world, your
place in the world, truly exists and awaits your welcoming it
with open arms into your everyday experience. This place, is
the place inside of you, where you meet, greet, and accept your
authentic self. It is where you will also find the best friend
that you can ever have in this world. Your place in the world
must first be claimed from inside of yourself, from your inner world.
Then from this place, you can seek to better define and enhance
the other places that are yours, or that you want to be yours, in
this world. It is my hope that you will find something that enables you to
keep journeying toward your desired goals in life as you read what
I have assembled and or written myself here for you. I am a great believer that we can heal, we can change, we can find
happiness and some measure of peace in life....if we just remain true
to our own processes, true to ourselves. I hope that you will remain
true to yourself and that you will be strong and determined, as I am,
we must not ever give up or give in....we must heal all of the way,
come all of the way back...for we deserve nothing less."
